E-Vukovar Recieves U.S. Support
USAID and the City of Vukovar share the goal of stimulating the development of Croatia's IT industry to support growth and job creation.
During his visit to the City of Vukovar, U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Robert A. Bradtke, m et with representatives of the City of Vukovar to mark the commencement of an e-government system, the first e-Vukovar activity.
E-Vukovar is a joint initiative led by the City of Vukovar, with cooperation from USAID, HBOR, and private sector partners, including IBM and Microsoft to expand Information, communications, and technology applications.
The purpose of the initiative is to improve government services, business productivity, and access to education and training. In general, the goal of e-Vukovar is to enable the citizens of Vukovar to improve their quality of life by stimulating economic opportunities, improving government services, expanding access to education and building partnerships between Vukovar and the rest of the world.
USAID's e-government system will help the City of Vukovar improve work performance within their local government. It also provides real-time on-line services to citizens and businesses and enables interactive communication between the local government and citizens.
